Hey, friends! I don’t have much to say today, but I wanted to share some GREAT news from yesterday.

But before I get to the great news, one statement and one last announcement.

First of all, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! to all who have commented on Facebook and sent messages via Twitter. Your encouragement means the world to me. Hopefully, it is an early indication of better things to come. I’ve already had one person tell me that he was considering the surgery in the spring and is looking forward to hearing the show!
Now for the announcement: I thought it would be good, and coincidentally fall into the accountability aspect of this show, to let you know NOW what the schedule is going to be. I’m not going to hit you with a post every few hours or anything, but this helps me to be accountable. Currently, this is the planned schedule for this show.

WednesdayWednesday Weigh-In

And that’s really it. I will post on occasion (the recipes, tips, tricks, etc. that I mentioned in the first post), but I want to start here so that I can be, hopefully, consistent.

And Now… The Good News.

You won’t believe it when I tell you (and the fuller story will be on the podcast this Monday), but this morning the most amazing thing happened. Let me back up…

About five months ago, when this journey really kicked into high gear, I went to the doctor for my yearly physical (blood work, all of that fun stuff), and I weighed in at a slim 350 pounds. I had never, EVER even thought about being that heavy before. It was as if the “50” part of the number punched me right in my not insubstantial gut. I was done.

Long story short, the hospital where I am getting my procedure done has one basic requirement: You have to lose at least 20 pounds before you can have the surgery. I struggled with this. I had to figure out how and what to eat. Finally, with a lot of help from a lot of people, I started getting some traction.

My good news is this:
This morning, I weighed myself at the doctor and I clocked in at 326 pounds! That’s right! 24 pounds lost just since mid-September! I am now at surgery weight with still a week left to go.

Today was a good day! Tomorrow is Day One!
